Privacy Policy

This policy explains what MeleeMarkets ("we", "us") collects when you use meleemarkets.com and what we do with it. In short: you do not need an account, we do not sell your data, and analytics only run after you agree.

1. What we collect

  • Messages you send us. If you email us or use the contact form, we keep your name, email address and message to reply and keep a record.
  • Server logs. Like any website, our host records technical details of each request: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. We use them to run, secure and fix the site.
  • Sponsor statistics. When a sponsored slide is shown or clicked we add one to a counter for that sponsor. The counter holds no personal information.
  • Reader votes. If you vote on a market's reader poll we count the vote and set a small cookie so it counts once per browser. We do not link votes to you.
  • Email updates (only if you sign up). If you subscribe to the daily update we keep your email address, when you confirmed it and when we last emailed you, so we can send it. We email you only after you confirm by link, and every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to be removed.
  • Browser notifications (only if you turn them on). We store the technical address your browser's push service gives us for your device, so we can send alerts. It contains no name or email address. You can turn notifications off at any time in your browser's site settings.
  • Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept the cookie banner we use Google Analytics to see which pages are used. It collects usage data such as pages viewed, device and approximate location, using cookies. If you decline, it stays off.
  • Ads (only if we run them). If we show ads, our ad partner (for example Google AdSense) may use cookies and similar technology to show and measure them, and to personalise them where you consent. We will update this page and ask for consent where the law requires it before that happens.
  • Saved on your device only. Your light or dark theme and your cookie choice are kept in your browser. They are not sent to us.

2. What we do not collect

We do not ask for payment details, run visitor accounts, or collect anything about your accounts or trades on Polymarket or Kalshi. We only display their public market data. We do not send any visitor information to the services we use to prepare our short headlines; they see only publishers' headlines and excerpts.

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

To reply to you (legitimate interest, or steps you asked for); to run, secure and improve the site (legitimate interest); to measure usage with analytics and to personalise ads (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time); and to comply with the law.

4. Who we share it with

Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its logs; Google, only if analytics or ads are enabled; and authorities or advisers where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising unless you have consented.

Photos on some cards load directly from the publisher's servers, and when you tap a headline or sponsor you leave our site. Those third parties see your IP address and have their own privacy policies.

5. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep it

Messages are kept until they are no longer needed, then deleted. Server logs are kept by our host for a short period under its own rules. Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account.

7. Your choices and rights

You can decline analytics on the cookie banner, block cookies in your browser, and clear this site's data at any time. You can email hello@meleemarkets.com to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected, deleted, restricted or exported, and to object to or withdraw consent for any processing. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you have these rights in law, including the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We will answer within one month. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals, because we do not track you across sites.

8. Security

We use HTTPS, restrict access to our systems and keep the collection of personal data to the minimum above. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you we will tell you as the law requires.

9. Children

MeleeMarkets is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

10. Changes and contact
